About the role

RBC Capital Markets offers a 10-week COO Operations Summer Analyst internship in Chicago. Interns support Futures Commission Merchant activities across trading, clearing, client services, settlements, and financial or regulatory reporting while gaining hands-on capital markets experience, practical training, mentorship, and exposure to experienced operations professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Support Futures Commission Merchant activities within Capital Markets operations.
  • Gain experience across trading, clearing, client services, settlements, and financial or regulatory reporting.
  • Work alongside experienced COO Operations professionals on business support and product activities.
  • Develop an understanding of RBC Capital Markets products, services, and capabilities.

Program And Training

  • Complete a 10-week summer internship with practical training and hands-on capital markets experience.
  • Receive career-building mentorship from experienced professionals throughout the program.
  • Attend orientation sessions, in-class curriculum, and regular information sessions with business leaders.
  • Connect with different Capital Markets businesses through challenging, collaborative work.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Graduating in December 2027 or spring 2028.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and basic market knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure team environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Customer service, accounting, financial planning and analysis, or data entry experience is recommended.
  • Leadership qualities, initiative, business sense, and diverse extracurricular activities are valued.
