About the role
Join RBC as a Winter Insurance Financial Analyst intern supporting IFRS 17 financial documentation, testing, and automation in insurance accounting and financial reporting.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain key data technology tools for the Insurance Special Project team.
- Assist with data sourcing and cash flow mapping from IT.
- Develop test cases for policy and non-policy cash flows and financial measurements.
- Create and maintain testing documentation for supported systems.
- Assess manual journal entries and automate manual processes.
- Support production issue resolution and bug fixes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support financial analytics, testing, and modeling for RBC Insurance financials.
- Collaborate across actuarial, investments, accounting, IT, and regulatory teams.
- Document system, process, and methodology requirements clearly.
- Analyze and define requirements intersecting multiple financial disciplines.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution in Business, Math, or Accounting.
- Motivated self-starter with quick learning ability.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong financial modeling and data management skills.
- Outstanding technology skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills for system and process documentation.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Programming skills in Python and other languages.
- Co-op or work experience in financial industry, preferably insurance.
- Knowledge of IFRS and actuarial standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to grasp technical details and macro-level issues.
Program Details
- Full-time student/co-op position for 8-12 months.
- Work location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 CAD.
