About the role

RBC offers 4-16 month Financial Analyst internships within the CFO group in Toronto. Interns gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and process improvement across various finance areas.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial results, forecasts, budgets, and variance reports
  • Develop financial models, dashboards, and data visualizations using Excel, Power BI, Tableau
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including journal entries
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support internal controls, compliance, and regulatory reporting
  • Partner with business units to provide financial insights and recommendations

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Canadian post-secondary in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Math, or related
  • Eligible for a work term starting January 2027 lasting 4, 8, 12, or 16 months
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Previous co-op or work experience in finance, accounting, or data analytics
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, derivatives, and financial products
  • Experience with coding or analytics tools like Python, VBA, SQL, R, C, HIVE
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Interest in CPA or CFA designation
  • Experience leveraging AI technologies for analytics and workflow enhancement
