2027 Wealth Management, Winter Technology/Developer (4-16 months)

About the role

RBC Wealth Management offers a Winter Technology/Developer co-op for 4-16 months in Toronto and Vancouver. Interns will engage in software development lifecycle tasks supporting investment processes.

Role Responsibilities

• Participate in software design, implementation, and production rollout.
• Create and review technical design documents and facilitate design meetings.
• Develop and enhance web applications and monitor email queues for issues.
• Create ServiceNow tickets and maintain knowledge documents.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues using available resources.
• Monitor and improve software and data integration batch job availability.

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop larger project features with Senior Engineers.
• Design, develop, and implement software using agile methods.
• Analyze requirements and execute test strategies and documentation.
• Conduct manual access reviews and role recertification.
• Guide stakeholders on RBC compliance standards.
• Manage remediation projects related to access management.

Requirements

• Major in computer science or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with SQL, C#, Java, NodeJS, Python, Microsoft technologies.
• Knowledge of Java 8+ and Spring Framework (Spring Boot).
• Familiarity with web technologies: HTML, HTTP, JavaScript, CSS.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and work independently or in teams.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Active Directory and web front-end frameworks like Angular and React.
• Familiarity with trading systems such as Bloomberg/Reuters.
• Experience with professional software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of full software development lifecycle and coding standards.

Eligibility

• Must be returning to school after the work term or require the full work term to graduate.
• Positions are fixed-term, full-time, salaried co-op roles.
• Work hours are 37.5 hours per week.
• Locations include Toronto and Vancouver, Canada.
