About the role
Join RBC Wealth Management as a Winter Finance Analyst intern to support investment and portfolio management initiatives. Gain hands-on experience in market research, investment modeling, and client service within a dynamic team environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and assist in product initiatives and related projects.
- Support market intelligence gathering aligned with current market themes and sales opportunities.
- Develop and test investment models for new investment solutions.
- Maintain and improve portfolio risk monitoring practices and risk metrics.
- Assist in business and product management of Portfolio Solutions across channels.
- Participate in investment policy statement development for funds and accounts.
Additional Tasks
- Update macroeconomic and market chartbooks using Excel, Bloomberg, and PowerPoint.
- Perform research and respond to customer inquiries.
- Document and upgrade process manuals.
- Follow established tax preparation and account administration procedures.
- Monitor team mailbox and respond to inquiries.
- Compile data for monthly and regular reports and update CRM system (Salesforce).
Requirements - Must Have
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of financial markets, economic disciplines, and regulations.
- Strong relationship management, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Interest in investment management and industry learning.
Requirements - Nice to Have
- Experience leading or managing small projects or enhancements.
- Previous work with investment advisors, counsellors, or portfolio managers.
- Familiarity with Morningstar, eVestment, Bloomberg, and Trade Order Management Systems.
- Experience using Salesforce CRM.
- Passion for learning about the economy and markets.
- Tax software skills (Taxprep) considered an asset.
Eligibility and Work Details
- Must be returning to school after the work term or require the full work term to graduate.
- Full-time, salaried student/co-op position with 37.5 work hours per week.
- Locations include Toronto and Vancouver, Canada.
