2027 Wealth Management, Winter Data Analyst (4-16 months)

About the role

Join RBC Wealth Management as a Winter Data Analyst co-op for 4-16 months, supporting data product development and data quality initiatives across multiple teams in Toronto or Vancouver.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and manage data pipelines, integration tools, and analytical systems.
• Lead data hygiene efforts in CRM to ensure data accuracy.
• Write SQL queries and Python scripts to automate workflows and maintain data quality.
• Use tools like Eagle, Charles River, Bloomberg, and Excel for trade processing and reporting.
• Support testing and automation for data products and services.
• Collaborate on strategic initiatives using software development life cycle (SDLC).

Additional Responsibilities

• Design and support big data analytics capabilities including data ingestion and reporting.
• Process security, product, and employee setup on Eagle system.
• Work with engineers and AI practitioners to prepare data for analytics.
• Review daily data quality monitors and resolve issues with stakeholders.
• Analyze data workflows to improve quality.
• Deploy and manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Must Have Qualifications

• Strong quantitative background; degree in math, statistics, computer science, or engineering preferred.
• Experience with SQL, large data sets, and cloud computing (AWS or similar).
• Proficient in data manipulation using formulas and logic functions.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Unix/Linux, and Bash scripting.
• Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and SDLC.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Snowflake or cloud data platforms.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML workflows.
• Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Eligibility and Work Conditions

• Must be returning to school after the work term or require the work term to graduate.
• Full-time, salaried student/co-op position with 37.5 hours per week.
