About the role
Join RBC Wealth Management as a Winter Data Analyst co-op for 4-16 months, supporting data product development and data quality initiatives across multiple teams in Toronto or Vancouver.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and manage data pipelines, integration tools, and analytical systems.
- Lead data hygiene efforts in CRM to ensure data accuracy.
- Write SQL queries and Python scripts to automate workflows and maintain data quality.
- Use tools like Eagle, Charles River, Bloomberg, and Excel for trade processing and reporting.
- Support testing and automation for data products and services.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives using software development life cycle (SDLC).
Additional Responsibilities
- Design and support big data analytics capabilities including data ingestion and reporting.
- Process security, product, and employee setup on Eagle system.
- Work with engineers and AI practitioners to prepare data for analytics.
- Review daily data quality monitors and resolve issues with stakeholders.
- Analyze data workflows to improve quality.
- Deploy and manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Must Have Qualifications
- Strong quantitative background; degree in math, statistics, computer science, or engineering preferred.
- Experience with SQL, large data sets, and cloud computing (AWS or similar).
- Proficient in data manipulation using formulas and logic functions.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Unix/Linux, and Bash scripting.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and SDLC.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Snowflake or cloud data platforms.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML workflows.
- Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate across functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Eligibility and Work Conditions
- Must be returning to school after the work term or require the work term to graduate.
- Full-time, salaried student/co-op position with 37.5 hours per week.
