2027 CAE, Winter Global Credit Intern (4 months)

About the role

Join RBC’s Internal Audit, Global Credit Risk team in Toronto for a four-month Winter internship. You will support audits of credit risk management across retail, wholesale, wealth management, and commercial portfolios, gaining experience in risk analysis, controls, portfolio reviews, workpapers, and communicating findings.

Role and Team

• Join Internal Audit’s Global Credit group, providing independent assurance over credit risk management across multiple business lines.
• Assignments may support Wholesale, Retail, Wealth Management, Credit Risk Review, or Commercial Credit Risk teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute audits across credit risk disciplines and retail and wholesale portfolios.
• Perform walkthroughs, control testing, and portfolio reviews alongside experienced auditors.
• Analyze credit exposure, migration trends, and risk metrics to identify emerging issues and themes.
• Evaluate credit risk rating, monitoring, and provisioning processes.
• Prepare well-documented workpapers supporting audit conclusions and recommendations.
• Research industry, regulatory, and market developments; attend meetings where findings are communicated to senior leaders.

Program and Eligibility

• Participate in the Winter intern program with coaching, mentoring, networking, and meaningful work.
• Return to school after the work term, or require the full term as a mandatory graduation component.
• The position is full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, in Toronto, and classified as Student/Co-op fixed term.
