About the role

This 2027 internship places students in QRT’s Security team, protecting systems, data and infrastructure supporting global research and trading. Interns contribute to production-focused security projects, collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure and Network Operations teams, investigate threats and build scalable automation. Strong performance may lead to consideration for a full-time graduate role.

Responsibilities

  • Protect systems, data and infrastructure supporting QRT’s global research and trading activities.
  • Design and implement security controls with Cloud, Infrastructure and Network Operations teams.
  • Contribute across security engineering, detection and response, vulnerability management and security assurance.
  • Build tooling, investigate emerging attack techniques and improve security automation at scale.
  • Develop cyber-security triage agents using MCP servers to support investigations.
  • Reproduce attacks in segregated labs, test detections, conduct reviews and support remediation testing.

Technical Areas

  • Security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, password management, encryption and secure coding.
  • Programming or scripting experience, particularly with Python or Bash.
  • Linux command-line confidence and familiarity with Linux/Unix system administration fundamentals.
  • Networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and Ethernet, plus monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.

Recruitment Process
