About the role

The 2027 New York Summer Associate Program offers MBA candidates hands-on M&A experience across Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, Financial Institutions Group, and Technology teams. Associates conduct financial analysis, valuation, research, presentations, due diligence, and deal execution while receiving formal training, mentoring, and exposure to clients and senior bankers.

Program

  • Work on live projects with industry experts, clients, and senior bankers across the Firm.
  • Complete one week of training followed by an ongoing curriculum supporting analytical and client-facing development.
  • Participate in formal mentoring, buddy, wellness, volunteer, and team-building initiatives.
  • The Firm’s goal is to offer interns full-time Associate positions, subject to applicable processes and decisions.

Teams

  • Consumer & Retail covers food and beverage, household and personal care, wine and spirits, tobacco and cannabis, travel and leisure, and retail.
  • Healthcare covers life sciences tools and diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotech, pharma services, healthcare IT, and healthcare services.
  • FIG covers insurance, asset management, insurtech, banks, and specialty finance.
  • Technology covers software, internet and e-commerce, technology-enabled and business services, hardware, and semiconductors.
  • Applicants should apply to only one New York M&A program.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and research company-specific and industry-specific financial information.
  • Conduct complex quantitative analysis and financial valuation.
  • Create client presentations and develop strategic business ideas based on industry knowledge.
  • Engage in due diligence processes and oversee advisory mandate execution as part of a deal team.

Requirements

  • Complete an MBA degree by June 2028 and have relevant prior work experience.
  • Demonstrate interest in industry participants, performance drivers, trends, and challenges.
  • Bring intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, and aptitude for numerical analysis.
  • Have a thorough grasp of financial concepts, strong work ethic, and high personal integrity.
  • Demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude, clear communication, initiative, and desire to excel.
