Data Research Fellowship

About the role

The six-month Data Research Fellowship offers hands-on experience analyzing alternative data, developing sector expertise, and producing research for investment professionals. Fellows collaborate with data, engineering, sourcing, science, and Compliance teams in New York, learn the discretionary investment process, and may be considered for permanent placement after completion.

Responsibilities

• Analyze alternative data to identify trends, themes, and business insights across companies and industries.
• Develop sector expertise by studying performance indicators, competitive dynamics, and operating drivers.
• Produce written analysis, verbal updates, and data visualizations for internal investment professionals.
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to create research products supporting investment decisions.
• Interact with investment professionals and contribute to discussions about the discretionary investment process.
• Translate complex analytical findings into practical insights for technical and nontechnical partners.

Team and Work Environment

• Work with sector data analysts, data scientists, data managers, and engineers on proprietary research.
• Collaborate with Data Sourcing, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Compliance teams.
• Operate in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment requiring rigorous and useful research.
• The role is based in the New York office.
