About the role
Point72 is seeking an NLP Researcher for its New York-based Systematic Investing team. The role applies machine learning, NLP, data science, and software engineering to develop financial features, research alpha hypotheses, test trading signals, and launch successful signals into production.
Responsibilities
- Use natural language processing to construct features from varied datasets.
- Formulate research hypotheses to identify potential sources of alpha.
- Build and test trading signals using NLP and financial features.
- Launch identified trading signals into production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in computer science or another quantitative discipline.
- Proficiency in Python and general software engineering principles.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and statistics.
- Interest in financial markets.
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to the highest ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior research experience.
- Experience with deep learning, particularly NLP, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or large language models.
- Familiarity with the data science technology stack.
- Curiosity about finance and trading.
