About the role
Hong Kong-based Operations Analyst supporting the full trade lifecycle across global markets and multiple asset classes. The role covers trade processing, reconciliations, corporate actions, FX transactions, exception management, reporting, reference data, and operational improvements while partnering with investment, technology, and external counterparties.
Responsibilities
- Manage trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and lifecycle processing across equities, derivatives, FX, fixed income, repos, and futures.
- Reconcile daily positions and cash; investigate trade breaks and settlement exceptions across counterparties, brokers, and custodians.
- Process mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, assessing position impacts and executing elections or adjustments.
- Execute and monitor FX transactions supporting foreign-currency exposure, PnL, and settlement flows.
- Maintain security master and reference data during Asian and European trading hours.
- Produce exception reports, reconciliations, and metrics while improving workflows, automation, documentation, and operational risk monitoring.
Collaboration
- Partner with traders, portfolio managers, clearing brokers, compliance, technology teams, and external counterparties to resolve lifecycle issues.
- Drive cross-functional projects improving settlement efficiency, confirmation workflows, and operational risk monitoring.
- Contribute to continuous learning and improvement within a global Operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Zero to one year of middle office operations, trade support, or closely related financial institution experience.
- Experience with trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and exception resolution across multiple asset classes.
- Hands-on experience processing mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, including assessing event impacts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, macros or scripting; SQL or equivalent data-analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, prioritization, accuracy, independence, collaboration, and ethical standards.
Tools and Working Environment
- Working knowledge of market-data terminals such as Bloomberg and trade confirmation and settlement workflows.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment across Asian and European trading hours.
