2027 Summer Associate - Strategic Advisory (Capital Markets)

About the role

This New York-based Summer Associate role joins PJT Partners’ Capital Markets Advisory team within Strategic Advisory. The role supports equity and debt financings for diverse clients, combining financial analysis, valuation, research, client materials, due diligence, deal execution, structuring, and investor-related work. Applicants must be enrolled in an MBA program and graduate between December 2027 and spring 2028.

Role and Team

• Work within PJT Partners’ Capital Markets Advisory team, part of the Strategic Advisory Group.
• Advise sponsor-backed, privately owned, and public businesses across private and public debt and equity markets.
• Support clients across financial institutions, healthcare, industrials, energy, real estate, technology, and other industries.
• Work directly with senior bankers on multiple assignments, pitches, and live transactions after training.

Responsibilities

• Develop corporate finance, valuation, financial modeling, and capital structure analysis skills for capital raising.
• Draft client presentations, prepare debt and equity market updates, and conduct financial and business research.
• Coordinate capital raise processes and facilitate due diligence with clients, counsel, investors, and advisors.
• Support transaction execution, deal structuring, covenant discussions, key terms, and term sheet negotiations.
• Develop investor relationships and construct internal deal and investor-related databases.
• Participate actively in client-facing situations and assist with origination and execution of deal activity.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program, with anticipated graduation between December 2027 and spring 2028.
