Summer 2027 Systems Engineering Intern

About the role

PDT Partners offers a 10-week summer internship for students in technical fields to work on infrastructure engineering projects. Interns receive mentorship, work on scalable systems, and gain experience in cloud, networking, and automation.

Program Details

• 10-week internship from early June to mid-August 2027.
• Location: New York City, NY.
• Focus on infrastructure engineering including systems, network, DevOps, and cloud.
• Work closely with senior engineers on individual projects.
• Receive hands-on mentorship and participate in social events.

Internship Projects

• Solve complex problems requiring creativity and new technology exploration.
• Learn infrastructure supporting quantitative trading business.
• Experience multicast market data distribution and network latency analysis.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning including compute and storage.
• Develop GitOps-driven configuration management for global deployments.
• Contribute to cloud-based Kubernetes infrastructure components.

Candidate Knowledge & Interests

• Software and automation for problem solving.

• Operating systems with performance tuning and analysis.

Requirements

• Current Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD student in computer science or engineering.
• Graduating Fall 2027 or later and eligible for full-time roles in 2028.
• Strong academic background from rigorous technical programs.

Compensation

• Salary: $180,000 (excluding potential bonuses).
