PDT Partners offers a 10-week summer software engineering internship for students in technical fields. Interns work on challenging projects, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to financial markets and trading technologies.
Program Details
- Duration: 10 weeks from early June to mid August
- Location: New York City, NY
- Application reviewed on a rolling basis with feedback within 3 weeks
- Salary: $180,000 (excluding potential bonuses)
Internship Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and test software for financial data and trading lifecycle
- Work on projects requiring creativity and new technology exploration
- Learn about financial markets and quantitative trading
- Contribute to trading technologies and infrastructure management
- Maintain large-scale data sets and develop tooling
Technical Focus Areas
- Program correctness including resource management and thread safety
- Maintainability with coding standards, unit testing, and documentation
- Efficiency via optimal data structures, algorithms, and parallelization
Candidate Requirements
- Current Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD student in computer science or engineering
- Graduating Fall 2027 or later, eligible for full-time roles in 2028 or 2029
- Strong programming skills and understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Intellectually curious, fast learner with problem-solving mindset
- Proactive with strong communication skills and commitment to improvement
