Legal Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Join Old Mission's 2027 summer legal internship in Chicago to gain junior-attorney-level experience in a financial services legal department. Work on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters under experienced counsel.

Role Responsibilities

• Review and assist with commercial agreements and vendor contracts.
• Maintain contract lifecycle management system.
• Assist with entity formation and corporate governance filings.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research; prepare summaries.
• Draft corporate documents, agreements, policies, and notices.
• Support ongoing regulatory compliance and maintain reference materials.

Candidate Requirements

• Enrolled in U.S. accredited law school, Class of 2028 or 2029, with strong academics.
• Law review, journal, or moot court experience is a plus.
• Strong oral/written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong performance in Contracts and Legal Writing courses.
• Familiarity with securities, commodities, or financial services regulation.
• Prior internship or clinic experience in legal or financial services settings.

Compensation

• Pay range: $30–$35 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
• Position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay under FLSA and Illinois law.
