About the role
Nomura's 2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate Program in San Francisco offers a 10-week hands-on experience in sustainable technology M&A and strategic advisory. Participants work on live deals, client development, and team management, gaining exposure equivalent to first-year Associates.
Program Structure
- 10-week program starting early June with 1-week training and 9-week placement.
- Work alongside investment bankers on live transactions and client initiatives.
- Participate in discussion groups, networking, and speaker sessions.
- Paired with junior and senior mentors for guidance and support.
- Program integral to full-time recruiting with offers extended to top performers.
Role Responsibilities
- Support deal execution on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and financings.
- Engage in client meetings and present ideas as part of deal teams.
- Conduct financial, structural, and risk analysis for transactions.
- Participate in pitching and winning new client mandates.
- Manage Analysts and support training of junior professionals.
Qualifications
- Pursuing MBA or graduate degree, graduating Dec 2027 to June 2028.
- Strong academic record and passion for sustainable infrastructure and technology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Eagerness to learn, work hard, and thrive in fast-paced teams.
Compensation
- Base salary annualized at $175,000, paid pro-rated during program.
- Position is exempt and not eligible for overtime.
