About the role
MUFG’s 10-week Summer Analyst Programme offers penultimate-year students insight into Japanese corporate banking in the UK. Interns receive technical training, support client marketing and credit analysis, collaborate with operational and banking teams, and may be considered for the following year’s full-time Analyst Programme.
Responsibilities
- Prepare business proposals and presentation materials, with opportunities to attend client meetings alongside Relationship Managers.
- Support credit analysis by drafting applications, completing borrower ratings, and gathering portfolio-monitoring information.
- Assist with daily operational activities in line with internal procedures.
- Collaborate with Operations, Markets, Transaction Banking, and Credit teams on client requests and internal meetings.
- Observe the business development process for Japanese customers, from client marketing through credit analysis.
Programme Details
- The programme lasts 10 weeks and starts on 21 June 2027.
- The first week provides technical training covering MUFG’s products and markets.
- Interns receive support from experienced corporate banking professionals and an allocated buddy.
- Successful interns may receive an offer for MUFG’s full-time Analyst Programme the following year.

Requirements
- Be in the penultimate year of study.
- Be fluent in Japanese and English, with verbal and written language skills.
- Have a strong interest in financial markets.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proactive, motivated approach.
- Have a structured and logical mindset, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
