About the role
Lead quality engineering for complex banking applications, covering SIT and UAT, backend validation, integrations, defect management, and audit-ready reporting. Build Playwright automation frameworks and introduce AI-assisted testing workflows while mentoring teams and collaborating with developers, business stakeholders, and test teams in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Define risk-based SIT and UAT coverage from requirements and solution design documents.
- Design, execute, and document traceable test cases, defects, results, and retesting outcomes.
- Validate backend processing, integrations, data flows, and SQL-based reconciliations across critical systems.
- Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, resolution tracking, retesting, risk escalation, and status reporting.
- Track testing metrics including coverage, execution time, and defect leakage.
- Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and test teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Automation and AI Testing
- Design and implement Playwright frameworks for user interface, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Build scalable test harnesses with reusable components, fixtures, and test-data setup.
- Develop AI-assisted workflows for test generation, script creation, failure analysis, and output evaluation.
- Use parallel execution, isolation, traces, screenshots, logs, and video capture to improve testing.
- Use Copilot CLI workflows to manage test suites, analyze failures, and investigate flaky tests.
- Mentor team members on automation best practices and AI-driven testing techniques.
Required Experience and Skills
- Eight to thirteen years of quality engineering or test automation experience for complex enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar modern automation frameworks and framework development.
- Strong understanding of UI testing, API testing, STLC, testing methodologies, and control validation.
- Strong SQL, ETL, backend testing, data reconciliation, and relational database experience.
- Experience working with developers and business teams, with strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience with Jira, ALM, reporting tools, CI/CD tools, Jenkins, and Git.
Education and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- A master’s degree and advanced certifications in testing, quality assurance, delivery, or technology are preferred.
- Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL relational databases is required.
- Domain experience in AML, sanctions compliance, credit risk, or financial operations is strongly preferred.
- JavaScript or TypeScript experience is preferred; Java or Python experience is optional.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted testing, Tableau, Power BI, Xray, Zephyr, or ALM is relevant.
