2027 Technology Summer Analyst Programme - Application Development (Glasgow)

About the role

The 13-week Technology Summer Analyst Programme in Glasgow offers penultimate-year STEM students classroom and on-the-job training, mentoring, and project-based experience. Application Development interns contribute across the software development lifecycle, solving business problems with programming and algorithms while working collaboratively with clients and experienced technology colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Use programming languages and algorithms to solve real-world business problems.
• Gather and analyse client requirements, then design, develop, test, deploy, and enhance applications.
• Deliver high-quality software providing clients with information for business-related decisions.
• Work within an agile, collaborative, client-focused technology team.
• Attend team and client meetings, including presenting project updates when required.
• Develop financial knowledge covering equities, fixed income, and other security types.

Programme Details

• Complete a comprehensive 13-week internship starting in June.
• Receive classroom and on-the-job training alongside experienced technology colleagues.
• Work on real projects across applications including reporting workflows and electronic trading systems.
• Receive regular mentoring, coaching, and evaluation reviews throughout the internship.
• Strong performers may receive an offer for the Full-Time Finance Analyst Training Program.

Requirements

• Be a penultimate-year Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science or another STEM discipline.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of operating systems.
• Have foundational knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Show strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
