About the role
A 12-month Technology Industrial Placement in Glasgow, comprising two six-month placements in Application Development or Enterprise Engineering. Interns gain project-based experience across software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, databases and other technologies supporting a global financial services firm.
Programme Structure
- Complete two six-month placements within Application Development or Enterprise Engineering teams.
- Gain real-world, project-based experience as a technologist within a financial services firm.
- High-performing interns may receive an offer for the full-time Technology Training Program.
Application Development
- Gather and analyse client requirements, then design and develop suitable technology solutions.
- Work across the software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment and production enhancements.
- Develop applications ranging from reporting workflows to low-latency electronic trading systems.
Enterprise Engineering
- Build platforms supporting networks, cybersecurity infrastructure, cloud integration, hardware and databases.
- Projects may include data security, Windows and Linux infrastructure, cloud adoption and technology solutions.
- Collaborate with internal business partners and external vendors on engineering projects.
Requirements
- Pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent STEM degree requiring a 12-month work placement.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of operating systems and foundations in at least one programming language.
- Show strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
