About the role
Six-month London off-cycle internship in Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading Division, offering desk-based experience across Fixed Income and Institutional Equity-related activities. Interns support client ideas, pricing, product development, trade lifecycle processes and desk efficiency while working alongside experienced professionals and gaining exposure to Sales, Trading and Management.
Placement and Teams
- Based in Morgan Stanley’s London office, with interns assigned to a specific desk for the program’s duration.
- Hiring teams include Structured Derivatives Sales, Structured Rates, Credit XVA Trading and FXEM.
- Additional teams include MENA Sales, Securitized Products Group and Commodities.
Responsibilities
- Communicate value-added ideas to clients using personal opinions and the Firm’s research.
- Develop stock-pitching ideas and write investment cases covering competitive advantages, sectors and valuations.
- Support pricing requests, idea generation and products tailored to bespoke client needs.
- Work across the trade lifecycle, from indicative quotes through post-settlement support.
- Improve and develop automated tools, and participate in company roadshows.
Training and Exposure
- Receive on-the-job training while working alongside experienced professionals on varied projects.
- Gain exposure to Sales, Trading and Management while building relationships across the Firm.
- Undertake additional projects to broaden understanding and improve desk productivity and efficiency.
Requirements
- Be a recent graduate or due to complete studies in 2027 or 2028.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills, particularly when working with financial data.
- Be resilient, curious, detail-oriented and comfortable working under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Be a collaborative team player who can manage varied responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain high professional and ethical standards, articulate complex ideas clearly and summarise effectively.
- Submit a CV and covering letter in English; an excellent academic background and fluent English are required.
