About the role

The 10-week London Summer Analyst Programme offers penultimate-year students rotations across Institutional Equities and Fixed Income, covering Sales, Trading and Structuring. Participants gain practical experience through desk projects, market analysis, trading simulations, client exposure, classroom training, networking and feedback from experienced Morgan Stanley professionals.

Role and Rotations

  • Rotate across Institutional Equities and Fixed Income during the summer programme.
  • Experience roles spanning Sales, Trading and Structuring.
  • Receive regular evaluations and feedback to identify suitable skill areas.

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in projects and work tasks assigned during desk rotations.
  • Shadow experienced employees to understand different Sales and Trading functions.
  • Gather market data, analyse trends, and participate in stock pitches and trading simulations.
  • Draft presentations and pitches for internal and financial services audiences.
  • Attend team discussions and client meetings.

Training and Support

  • Complete one week of intensive classroom training at the programme’s start.
  • Take part in division-specific training, weekly mini rotations, and individual or group projects.
  • Attend senior management speaker sessions and networking events.
  • Receive support from an assigned dean and buddy.

Candidate Profile

  • Be a penultimate-year student, including a Masters student, in any degree discipline.
  • Be on track to achieve, or have achieved, at least a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills and an interest in financial markets.
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly and summarise them effectively.
  • Perform well under pressure, manage competing responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain high professional and ethical standards while working collaboratively.
