About the role

Twelve-month London internship with Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Emerging Markets Debt Team, beginning January 2027. Work directly with traders across Boston, London, and Singapore on market structure, data visualization, AI, automation, workflow improvement, and trading-support projects. This is not an execution or trade-recommendation role.

Responsibilities

  • Support traders with trading-related projects, analytics, workflow reviews, and market structure initiatives.
  • Build dashboards and visualizations covering liquidity, execution quality, trading activity, markets, and operational workflows.
  • Research trading venues, protocols, broker capabilities, market access, regulations, taxes, settlement, and related market structure topics.
  • Contribute to AI and automation initiatives that organize information, reduce manual work, and scale recurring processes.
  • Partner with technology, compliance, operations, portfolio management, and trading stakeholders to improve workflows.
  • Monitor market developments, trading workflows, and data quality issues relevant to the Emerging Markets Debt Team.

Training and Development

  • Receive formal and informal training while learning through direct project work with traders and partner teams.
  • Develop practical experience in trading support, data analysis, visualization, workflow improvement, and project delivery.
  • Training covers investment processes, trading workflows, market structure, data tools, analytics, and automation.
  • Build understanding of emerging market debt, equity, and foreign exchange markets.

Placement Details

  • Based in London within Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Emerging Markets Debt Team.
  • Work with traders across Boston, London, and Singapore on a globally oriented emerging markets trading desk.
  • The internship provides selected responsibilities and functions comparable to a full-time analyst for a limited period.
  • The role does not involve executing trades or providing trade recommendations.
