About the role
One-year Financial Resources & Strategy industrial placement in London, beginning June 2027. Interns undertake rotations across resource management, margin and capital optimization, and funding and collateral optimization, with exposure to Institutional Equities, Fixed Income, and broader Sales & Trading. The programme combines classroom training, meaningful projects, mentorship, networking, and senior-management engagement.
Programme Structure
- Join FRS for a one-year placement, undertaking rotations throughout the programme.
- Rotate across Business Resource Management, Margin & Capital Optimization, and Funding & Collateral Optimization.
- Gain exposure to Institutional Equities, Fixed Income, and broader Sales & Trading through individual and group projects.
- Work on projects across divisions, asset classes, and regions with direct impact on strategic direction.
Responsibilities
- Support resource management across FID, IED, and GCM, including pricing and deploying financial resources.
- Help manage balance sheet, capital, liquidity, expenses, and operating leverage across ISG.
- Support margin and capital optimization for cleared and uncleared trading activity across asset classes.
- Assist with derivatives funding and capital pricing, post-trade optimization, and new clearing services.
- Support secured funding and collateral optimization using repurchase agreements, total return swaps, and securities lending.
Training And Support
- Begin with one week of intensive classroom and division-specific training in June.
- Receive continued on-the-job training while working with experienced professionals on meaningful projects.
- Present assigned projects to the entire division.
- Participate in senior-management speaker series, networking events, volunteering, and performance reviews.
- Receive support from a dean, buddy, and mentorship programme.
