About the role
The 13-week Operations Summer Analyst Programme in Glasgow offers undergraduate students practical experience supporting trade processing, reconciliation, reporting, systems testing, controls, and client service. The programme includes induction, classroom learning, on-the-job training, networking, team sessions, and work-shadowing across Morgan Stanley’s Operations Division.
Responsibilities
- Learn trade lifecycle processes from deal capture through final settlement, resolving breaks and discrepancies.
- Prepare, compile, and analyse regular metrics and dashboards supporting business decisions and strategy.
- Participate in projects and systems testing to help mitigate risk and address business requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues on daily tasks, follow-ups, escalations, knowledge sharing, and best-practice development.
- Understand stakeholder priorities, protect client confidentiality, and support high-quality client experiences.
Programme Details
- The 13-week programme commences in June and is designed for students in their second or third university year.
- Firmwide Induction Week covers Morgan Stanley’s businesses, structure, strategy, product knowledge, soft skills, and teambuilding.
- Additional activities include on-the-job training, networking events, team-led training sessions, and work-shadowing.
Requirements
- Undergraduate student with outstanding academic achievements, on track for a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information quickly.
- Strong project management skills, teamwork, and a client-service orientation.
