About the role
The 13-week Glasgow Finance Summer Analyst Programme combines classroom and on-the-job training with real project experience. Analysts may calculate trading profit and loss, prepare reports, write market commentary, enhance processes, and assess risk exposure, while receiving mentoring, networking, evaluation, and potential ACCA-supported professional qualification opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Calculate traders’ daily profit and loss tallies.
- Write market commentaries for management reports.
- Conduct re-engineering projects to review and enhance processes.
- Use analytical tools to determine current and potential risk exposure.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
Programme and Training
- Complete a 13-week programme combining classroom learning and on-the-job experience.
- Work alongside experienced colleagues on real projects across the Finance Division.
- Attend firmwide induction and two days of classroom-based training.
- Receive training in product knowledge, industry knowledge, technical skills, personal effectiveness, and teamwork.
- Participate in mentoring, coaching, evaluation reviews, Lunch & Learns, networking, and work-shadowing.
- High-performing analysts may receive a full-time Finance Analyst Training Programme offer.
Requirements
- Be a penultimate-year undergraduate student with outstanding academic achievements.
- Be on track for a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
- Have advanced technical, quantitative, and project management capabilities.
- Manage multiple tasks while maintaining close attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a client-service orientation.
