About the role
A 13-month Finance Industrial Placement in London for penultimate-year students completing a compulsory or optional year in industry. Participants join one Finance team, supporting financial analysis, reporting, risk exposure assessment, profit and loss calculations, process improvement, and management commentary while receiving classroom and on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
- Calculate traders’ daily profit and loss tallies.
- Write market commentaries for management reports.
- Conduct re-engineering projects to review and enhance processes.
- Use analytical tools to determine current and potential risk exposure.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
Finance Division
- Provides management, review, analysis, and advisory services for financial and capital resources.
- Maintains the firm’s books and records and advises businesses and senior management.
- Supports planning with reliable financial information and contributes to reducing and managing firmwide risk.
- Builds relationships with industry and government regulators and provides information to the outside business community.
Training
- Begin with a Firmwide induction day alongside participants from other divisions.
- Complete two classroom-based training days covering divisions, products, industries, personal effectiveness, and technical topics.
- Participate in team-building and networking activities.
- Receive on-the-job training, senior speaker events, mentoring, and events with other interns.
