About the role

The 13-month Corporate Treasury Industrial Placement develops technical, analytical and presentation skills across Liquidity, Capital, Funding, Legal Entity Management, or Recovery and Resolution Planning. Students support regulatory, strategic and governance work, collaborate across Finance, Risk, business units and senior management, and gain exposure to Treasury’s broader activities.

Placement Details

  • The programme is for penultimate-year undergraduate students whose degree includes a compulsory or optional year in industry.
  • The placement begins in June 2027 and runs for 13 months.
  • Students join one of five functional Treasury teams while working with other teams to understand the department holistically.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate information for presentations and proposals prepared for governance committees and senior management.
  • Present work and respond to queries at regional and global meetings.
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation and simplification projects.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support across the Treasury team.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across Treasury, Risk, Business Units, Finance, Operations and Technology.
  • Support analysis of capital, liquidity and funding resources and requirements across EMEA entities.

Functional Areas

  • Monitor interest-rate and foreign-exchange risks and propose hedging actions to reduce exposure.
  • Oversee unsecured funding issuances, including Structured Notes approvals, pricing and workflow automation opportunities.
  • Support the Legal Entity Strategy across EMEA, including potential entities, branches and organisational structures.
  • Support testing and assurance for Recovery and Resolution Planning during financial stress scenarios.
  • Support regulatory deliverables including ICAAP and ILAAP.

Training

  • Complete a Firmwide induction alongside participants from other divisions.
  • Attend four days of classroom-based product and technical training.
  • Receive on-the-job training, Treasury education sessions, meetings, networking events and work-shadowing opportunities.
  • Work with colleagues across global locations, predominantly New York, Budapest and Frankfurt.
