About the role

Morgan Stanley’s 2027 Full-Time Technology Analyst Program in Montreal recruits final-year bachelor’s or master’s students for technology roles supporting global financial markets. Analysts receive company, technology, and proprietary-platform training, then join development or enterprise engineering teams. Work may include applications, electronic trading systems, infrastructure, databases, and client-facing technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze client requirements for technology applications and systems.
  • Design, evaluate, integrate, develop, test, and deploy software applications.
  • Develop high-performance, low-latency electronic trading systems and complex workflow capabilities.
  • Build and maintain networks, computing hardware, operating systems, databases, and enterprise platforms.
  • Support trading, mobile, web, and other end-user applications across global financial markets.
  • Develop infrastructure solutions, including Windows management and client-reporting delivery systems.

Training and Placement

  • Analysts are pre-placed within a Technology division before beginning their full-time roles.
  • Complete a global, Morgan Stanley-funded training program held in Montreal.
  • Training includes firm orientation, intensive technology instruction, proprietary technologies, and a group project.
  • After training, graduates join teams matching their skills and interests.
  • The program supports peer networking and preparation for long-term technology careers.

Requirements

  • Currently completing the final year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Eligible fields include computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or related majors.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C, C++, Java, Python, or C#.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix, Windows, object-oriented development, data structures, algorithms, complexity theory, databases, and scripting.
