2027 Sustainable Finance Fellowship Program

About the role

The 10-week Sustainable Finance Summer Fellowship places current graduate students on sustainability- or impact-focused teams in Morgan Stanley’s New York City offices. Fellows may conduct research, financial modeling, data analysis, presentations, and sustainable investing projects while participating in firmwide programming and networking with practitioners and senior leaders.

Program and Placement

• Work with sustainability- or impact-focused teams across Morgan Stanley.
• Potential placements include the Global Sustainability Office, Global Capital Markets, Private Credit & Equity, and Wealth Management Investing with Impact.
• Attend firmwide and divisional programming, small-group learning sessions, coffee chats, and social activities.
• In-person attendance is required for the full 10-week fellowship in New York City.

Responsibilities

• Conduct strategic business analysis and detailed industry research.
• Build complex financial models and analyze relevant data.
• Prepare and deliver clear, compelling presentations.
• Monitor and provide updates on market news and emerging industry trends.
• Contribute to or lead projects supporting sustainable investing initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a master’s degree or enrolled in a graduate-level program.
• Demonstrable interest in sustainability and finance.
• Ability to summarize and articulate complex ideas effectively.
• Team-oriented, self-starting approach with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently.
