2027 Spring Investment Management Fixed Income Co-op Program Investment amp; Business Analysis

About the role

Six-month, full-time co-op in Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Boston Fixed Income team, offering exposure to investment research, trading, portfolio management, and business operations. Participants support market analysis, reporting, portfolio monitoring, and strategic projects while working with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, and business professionals across emerging markets, municipal bonds, high yield, and broad markets.

Team Placements

• Potential placements include Emerging Markets Debt Trading & Operations, Municipal Bonds Research, High Yield, and Broad Markets.
• Candidates may interview with multiple Fixed Income teams based on qualifications, interests, background, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor financial markets, economic developments, investment trends, government auctions, bond issuances, and portfolio exposures.
• Conduct market, sector, credit, fundamental, and investment research supporting investment decision-making.
• Support portfolio managers, analysts, and traders with investment activities, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
• Compile, analyze, and summarize market data, research findings, investment insights, and business metrics.
• Prepare presentations, reports, competitor analyses, and materials for meetings and investment discussions.
• Complete ad hoc research, reporting, analytical, and process-improvement projects supporting business needs.

Program Experience

• Work alongside portfolio managers, analysts, traders, and business professionals across diverse Fixed Income strategies.
• Gain exposure to financial markets, portfolio management, and the investment management industry.
• Develop analytical, research, communication, and business skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and training.
