About the role

The 2027 Investment Management Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week opportunity with Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Tactical Value team in New York. Participants receive foundational training and hands-on exposure to private market investing, portfolio analysis, due diligence, valuation, and opportunistic investment evaluation while supporting investment professionals.

Program

  • Ten-week program beginning in June 2027, including one week of training and nine weeks with an Investment Management team.
  • Join the Tactical Value team, focused on opportunistic investment opportunities across private markets.
  • Perform work similar to a full-time analyst while developing investment, research, modeling, presentation, and project management skills.
  • The role is primarily a learning and growth opportunity and does not necessarily correlate with full-time opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities with senior members of the Fund.
  • Coordinate due diligence items with advisors and consultants.
  • Help construct company financial forecasts and valuation models.
  • Track prospective deals and support investment-related tasks, including confidentiality agreement negotiations.
  • Contribute to investment memoranda and monitor existing portfolio company performance.
  • Monitor market developments and support research, analysis, presentations, and investment-related projects.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with expected graduation between December 2028 and June 2029.
  • Exceptional academic performance and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player who can work across the team and broader organization.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and manage projects and competing priorities.
  • Driven, motivated, results-focused, organized, and effective at time management.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented problem solver with a keen interest in investing.
