2027 Investment Management Full-time Analyst Program - Fixed Income High Yield (Boston)

About the role

The five-year Junior Analyst Program in Boston supports Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s High Yield research team. Graduates receive extensive training before assisting Senior Analysts and portfolio managers with fundamental research, financial modeling, investment ideas, portfolio risk assessment, and industry coverage, gaining exposure to public-markets investment decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Analysts and portfolio managers with industry analysis, company research, and investment outlooks.
• Participate in daily investment meetings and company reviews covering primary issuance and secondary-market opportunities.
• Build and maintain financial models using company filings, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and industry data sources.
• Assist with group systems, technology, investment screening, portfolio risk assessment, and regulatory information projects.
• Support selected sub-industry coverage and complete additional assignments as requested.

Program Structure

• The five-year Junior Analyst Program begins with extensive training in fundamental investment management skills.
• Participants support industry coverage and portfolio management workflows within the High Yield Group’s research team.
• Exceptional Junior Analysts may be offered Senior Analyst roles with broader industry coverage responsibilities later.
• The High Yield Group manages 30 billion and organizes research by industry specialization.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Strong academic record and extracurricular achievements.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience modeling income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ability to work reliably and independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, intellectual curiosity, and demonstrated interest in public-markets investing.
