About the role

This three-to-six-month off-cycle internship in Morgan Stanley’s Zurich Sales & Trading Division places interns on a specific desk, supporting client ideas, trades, stock pitches and investment cases. Interns receive on-the-job training, collaborate with Sales Trading, Research and Cross-Asset teams, and experience responsibilities similar to a full-time analyst.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work on an assigned desk for the program’s duration, directly supporting ideas and solutions delivered to clients.
  • Communicate value-added ideas to clients using personal opinions and the Firm’s research.
  • Work on trades or stock-pitching ideas and write investment cases covering advantages, sectors and valuations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Trading, Research and Cross-Asset teams to gather market colour on trends and daily flow.
  • Undertake additional projects to broaden understanding and improve desk productivity and efficiency.

Placement and Training

  • The internship is based in Morgan Stanley’s Zurich office and lasts three to six months.
  • Interns remain on their assigned desk for the duration of the program.
  • Training is provided on the job alongside experienced professionals across Sales and Trading activities.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with comfort working with financial data.
  • Results-driven approach and ability to perform under pressure and against tight deadlines.
  • Team-player mentality and ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Commitment to high-quality work and strong professional and ethical standards.
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively.
  • Excellent academic background and fluency in English, German or French.
