About the role

A three-to-six-month Sales and Trading internship in Frankfurt, offering desk-based experience across equity derivatives, equity sales, rates, and credit. Interns support client relationships, develop trade and stock-pitch ideas, collaborate with research and trading teams, and receive on-the-job training alongside experienced professionals.

Placement and Teams

  • Work on a specific desk in the Frankfurt office for the internship’s full duration.
  • Hiring teams include Structured Equity Derivatives Sales, Equity Sales, Fixed Income Rates, and Fixed Income Credit.
  • Support desk activities directly contributing to the delivery of ideas and solutions for clients.
  • Undertake additional projects to broaden business understanding and improve desk productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate value-added ideas to clients using personal opinions and the firm’s research.
  • Work on trades or stock-pitch ideas and write investment cases covering advantages, sectors, and valuations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Trading, Research, and Cross-Asset teams to gather market colour for clients.
  • Support activities involving client relationships, securities, risk assessment, and innovative transactions, depending on desk requirements.

Training

  • Receive on-the-job training while working alongside experienced professionals on varied projects.
  • Gain exposure to a broad range of roles and aspects of the Sales and Trading business.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with confidence working with financial data.
  • Results-driven approach and ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven teamwork skills and ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Commitment to excellent work and high professional and ethical standards.
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively.
  • Excellent academic background; bachelor’s or master’s studies must finish within 18 months after internship completion.
