About the role

Morgan Stanley's Institutional Equity Division offers a 6-month Industrial Placement or 10-week Summer Analyst internship in Hong Kong or Singapore. Interns gain hands-on experience in sales, trading, structuring, research, and analytics within a global equity markets environment.

Division Overview

  • Global leader in equity, equity-linked, and equity-derivative securities origination and trading.
  • Serves institutional clients with innovative solutions for alpha generation and risk management.
  • Includes Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Sales, and Trading teams.

Internship Program

  • Starts with one-day orientation and firmwide networking event.
  • Includes divisional-specific training to build core skills.
  • Hands-on training with exposure to various roles and products.
  • Two rotations within the Institutional Equity Division.
  • Features senior management speaker series, desk teach-ins, and mentorship.
  • Includes performance reviews, community service, and cross-divisional networking.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Sales: Build client base, maintain relationships, develop and present investment ideas.
  • Trading: Develop and execute trading ideas, support market-making trade execution.
  • Structuring: Design investment and risk management products innovatively.
  • Research/Strategy: Analyze market fundamentals and develop investment recommendations.
  • Analytics: Provide quantitative and qualitative client revenue and profitability analysis.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree, graduating between Oct 2027 and Jul 2028.
  • Strong interest in finance and financial markets.
  • Analytical, adaptable, multi-tasker, collaborative team player with strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required; Asian language skills preferred.

Internship Details

  • Industrial Placement: 6 months between January and July 2027.
  • Summer Analyst Program: 10 weeks between June and August 2027.
  • Application deadlines: August 16, 2026 and September 27, 2026.
  • Application process includes CV assessment, video interview, Zoom interview, and Superday.
  • Focus on Sales, Trading, Prime Brokerage, or Sales-Trading roles within Equities.
