About the role

Morgan Stanley's 6-month Industrial Placement Program in Hong Kong offers hands-on experience in Business Control Unit managing non-market and counterparty risks within the Institutional Equity Division. Interns engage in risk monitoring, client activity analysis, and cross-team collaboration.

Program Structure

• 6-month Industrial Placement from January to July 2027 in Hong Kong.
• Starts with a one-day orientation and firmwide networking event.
• Includes division-specific training to build core skills.
• Features Senior Management Speaker Series and desk teach-ins.
• Offers cross-divisional networking and community service events.
• Includes performance reviews and a mentorship program.

Role & Responsibilities - Non-Market Risk Team

• Manage operational, franchise, and regulatory risk elements.
• Work with sales, trading, and internal stakeholders.
• Own operational risk monitoring and remediation processes.
• Identify and remediate risks in business lifecycle and processes.
• Manage risk reporting and escalation.
• Engage with Independent Evaluation Division on queries.

Role & Responsibilities - Counterparty Risk Team

• Analyze client activity and exposure patterns across products.
• Support client onboarding and documentation coordination.
• Prepare materials on client-related developments.
• Collaborate with Sales & Trading, Risk, and Operations teams.
• Track client reviews, approvals, and follow-ups.
• Support ad hoc requests and team initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree, graduating Oct 2027 - Jul 2028.
• Strong interest in finance and financial markets.
• Analytical, adaptable, multi-tasker, and collaborative team player.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
