2027 Investment Banking Summer Associate – Capital Structure Advisory – New York

About the role

Summer Associate in Moelis & Company’s Capital Structure Advisory Group, advising companies, boards, sponsors, creditors and governments on liability management, recapitalizations, financings, distressed M&A and restructurings. The 10-week program combines financial analysis, modelling, client presentations and senior stakeholder exposure with one week of financial modelling and valuation training.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on liability management transactions, recapitalizations, financings, distressed M&A and restructurings.
• Perform financial analysis, modelling, capital structure analysis and valuation.
• Review credit documentation and support multi-party negotiations across company-side and credit-side mandates.
• Prepare client presentations and interact with senior bankers and clients.
• Manage a team while demonstrating intellectual curiosity, leadership and analytical aptitude.

Program experience

• Complete a 10-week summer internship in Moelis & Company’s Capital Structure Advisory Group.
• Participate in a one-week training program covering financial modelling and valuation.
• Attend educational and social events designed to build industry and firm knowledge.
• Gain exposure to senior bankers and clients across industries and transaction types.
