London Trader Summer Internship 2027

About the role

A nine-week London internship introducing students to options market making through structured training, trading simulations, desk shadowing and project work. Interns develop foundations in options theory, pricing, probability, risk and market analysis, with successful participants potentially considered for Maven’s Graduate Trader Programme.

Programme Details

• Based in Maven’s London office from 21 June to 20 August 2027.
• Structured nine-week internship focused on practical exposure to options market making.
• Successful interns may be considered for the following year’s Graduate Trader Programme.

Responsibilities

• Build practical trading skills in simulations and apply learning to real market scenarios.
• Use traders’ tools or develop your own while observing live-market trades.
• Shadow traders across different desks, ask questions and learn about their daily work.
• Complete an independent project during a dedicated Reading Week.

Training And Development

• Learn options theory, pricing, probability and risk from Maven’s in-house trainers.
• Apply knowledge through trading simulations, strategy testing and mock trading.
• Develop broader market understanding through macroeconomics and technical training.
• Receive regular feedback and progress through clear learning milestones.
• Gain technical and professional training, including how AI is used in daily work.

Requirements

• Be a penultimate-year undergraduate or master’s student at the time of application.
• Have the right to work in the region where you are applying.
• Have strong numeracy skills and a good understanding of probability and statistics.
• Show genuine interest in financial markets and curiosity to learn.
• Be willing to adopt and use emerging AI technologies.
• Do not apply for another Maven programme during this application cycle.
