About the role
The twelve-month Risk Management Group Graduate Programme places graduates in Macquarie’s independent risk function. You will help identify, assess, monitor and manage material risks across financial services, developing technical, commercial and judgment skills through practical work, formal training and support from managers, mentors and business leaders.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyse and explain risk exposures arising from trading, lending and financing activities.
- Review financial statements, business models, positions, strategies and market trends to identify key risk drivers.
- Support credit assessments, model reviews, stress testing, scenario analysis and risk recommendations.
- Work with business, trading, legal, operations and risk teams to provide independent review and challenge.
- Help enhance risk frameworks, policies, limits, reporting tools and regulatory or governance processes.
Placement Areas
- Credit Risk covers counterparties, financial statements, transaction structures, industry trends, exposures and portfolio concentrations.
- Market Risk involves exposures, positions, strategies, quantitative risk measures, stress testing and risk limits.
- Model Risk involves building models, assessing methodologies, conducting independent research and communicating findings.

- The twelve-month programme includes meaningful work, practical on-the-job learning and opportunities to develop new ideas.
- Orientation introduces Macquarie business groups and supports professional networking with fellow analysts.
- Formal training includes financial modelling and presentation skills.
- Graduates receive support from a manager and aligned mentor while working with business leaders.
- Participants are encouraged to contribute through the Macquarie Group Foundation.
