About the role
Nine-week summer internship in Macquarie Capital gives students exposure to advisory, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, principal investing and live transactions. Interns develop financial analysis, valuation and modelling skills while supporting client work, market monitoring and presentations. The programme includes tailored induction, training and collaboration with business leaders.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to client projects across technology, software, services, consumer, infrastructure or financial institutions sectors.
- Build financial analysis, valuation and financial modelling skills for client and transaction work.
- Draft client presentations and pitch materials that translate ideas into opportunities.
- Support strategic M&A advisory, capital raising and live transaction activities.
- Track market news, share price movements, sector trends and transaction updates.

Requirements
- Be in the penultimate year of an undergraduate or master’s degree.
- Final-year undergraduate students must plan to continue to a master’s degree.
- Expected graduation must be between January and July 2028.
- Study finance, economics, management, engineering, mathematics or another analytical discipline.
- Demonstrate organisation, adaptability and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Show commercial curiosity, initiative, critical thinking, teamwork and strong attention to detail.
Additional Skills
- Be comfortable working with numerical information in a demanding, dynamic environment.
- Communicate thoughts and ideas clearly and build strong working relationships.
- Some Excel experience is helpful, although training will be provided.
- Some opportunities may seek demonstrated interest in infrastructure or financial institutions.
