About the role

Join Macquarie’s nine-week Commodities and Global Markets Summer Internship in London. Work with specialist teams across commodities, financial markets and asset finance, supporting live projects, client solutions, quantitative analysis, risk and regulatory activities. Receive tailored induction, hands-on training and exposure to professionals while developing technical, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse market, client, risk or regulatory data to support business decisions and client solutions.
  • Develop quantitative methods, models, tools or platforms, depending on the assigned team.
  • Investigate issues, identify root causes and support remediation, process, system and control improvements.
  • Support client engagement, strategy communication, outreach and explanations of complex financial or technical concepts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across trading, risk, technology, operations and specialist teams.

Potential teams

  • Quant Strategy: maintain and develop quantitative platforms and implement quantitative methods.
  • Quantitative Investment Strategies Marketing: support strategy development, client mapping, marketing and outreach.
  • Business Operational Risk Management: investigate incidents, support remediation and assess business controls.
  • Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting: analyse transaction reporting data and support reporting, process and technology changes.
  • Quantitative Investment Solutions and Structuring: contribute to quantitative models, systems and institutional client solutions.

Programme

  • Complete a tailored induction week designed to provide skills and knowledge for the internship.
  • Gain insight into financial services and build technical skills relevant to your career.
  • Work closely with your team on live projects and transactions from the beginning.
  • Receive hands-on training and on-the-job experience while working alongside business leaders.

Candidate profile

  • Study in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, economics or finance.
  • Approach problems creatively and structurally, with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communicate complex or technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively, adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate curiosity, initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Be in the penultimate year of undergraduate or master’s study, or final-year undergraduate planning further study.
  • Graduate between January and July 2028.
