About the role

Macquarie’s twelve-month Commodities and Global Markets Graduate Programme offers hands-on experience across quantitative strategy, structuring, operational risk, regulatory reporting, post-trade data, and credit, capital and liquidity. Graduates receive formal training, mentoring, and opportunities to work with business leaders while developing expertise in global commodities and financial markets.

Role Opportunities

  • Gain hands-on experience across commodities, financial markets, asset finance, risk management, market access, and physical execution.
  • Support Quant Strategy through quantitative platform maintenance, development, and implementation of quantitative methods.
  • Contribute to investment strategy development, client mapping, marketing, outreach, and explanations for institutional clients.
  • Investigate incidents, support remediation, assess controls, and analyse transaction reporting under EMIR, MiFID, and SFTR.
  • Apply creative problem-solving to quantitative models, systems, and solutions for institutional clients.
  • Improve post-trade data governance and controls, or analyse portfolio capital, funding usage, and derivative trade structures.

Programme Experience

  • Complete a twelve-month programme involving practical work, increasing responsibility, and contributions to longer-term business priorities.
  • Attend orientation covering Macquarie’s business groups and build a professional network with fellow analysts.
  • Receive formal financial modelling and presentation skills training alongside practical on-the-job learning.
  • Work collaboratively with business leaders on meaningful and challenging projects while developing and testing ideas.
  • Receive support from a manager and aligned mentor while gaining insight into the financial services industry.
