Engineering Graduate Programme (Backend)

About the role

A 12-month backend engineering graduate programme in London, starting September 2027, for final-year or recent graduates interested in technology and financial markets. Participants build technical foundations through induction, bootcamp, group projects and qualifications before joining LSEG permanently in a division aligned with their skills and interests.

Programme Highlights

• Attend an Engineering Bootcamp covering the business and engineering principles.

• Access industry-recognised qualifications, including five study days during the programme.

Role And Working Environment

• Explore backend development opportunities using Java, Python and SQL databases.
• Receive placement into a division aligned with your skills, interests and business needs.
• Connect with departments across LSEG to learn about different areas of the organisation.
• Join LSEG permanently from day one after alignment to a division.
• Work in a hybrid arrangement, spending three days per week with colleagues in-office.

Recruitment Process

• Submit an application and resume during the first recruitment stage.
• Complete technical and coding assessments, followed by an immersive online assessment.
• Participate in a strength-based video interview.
• Attend a virtual half-day assessment centre with several different exercises.
• Submit one graduate programme application; only the first application will be reviewed.
• Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and may close before the stated date.
