Intern - Software Engineer

About the role

Software engineering summer internship in LSEG’s Optimisation Core Technology Team within Post Trade Engineering, based in New York City. Over 12 weeks, you will work with 5–10 engineers on cloud-based systems, client-facing optimisation services, and Python projects involving financial-data quality, integrations, internal tools, and task-queue improvements.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve applications and environments supporting optimisation services for financial market participants.
• Develop Python-based workflows for financial-data quality checks and collaborate with Analytics on pricing algorithms.
• Create internal portal screens for Product teams to perform optimisation activities.
• Implement connectivity with external booking systems, trade stores, and related platforms.
• Enhance task-queue systems to improve resource utilisation and application performance.
• Work with Product Development to incorporate client feedback, run analysis, and deliver strategic projects.

Recruitment Process

• Complete technical and coding assessments evaluating coding ability, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Complete an untimed immersive online assessment about working at LSEG.
• Attend a strength-based video interview.
• Participate in a virtual half-day assessment centre with several exercises.

Working Arrangements

• The role is based in LSEG’s New York City office within the Post Trade Engineering division.
• The team comprises approximately 5–10 engineers and works with AWS cloud services.
• Hybrid working includes three days in the office, with flexibility to work remotely.
