UK Summer Internship Programme 2027

About the role

The London Summer Internship Programme offers penultimate-year students hands-on experience in M&A advisory, Capital Advisory Group or Private Fund Advisory. Interns receive comprehensive training, contribute to live projects, develop financial and analytical skills, and gain exposure to senior professionals, clients and transaction processes.

Programme and Responsibilities

• Work on live M&A projects after completing the initial training week.
• Perform financial analysis, assist with valuations and contribute to industry research.
• Prepare confidential information memoranda and management presentations.
• Support senior bankers with business development and meeting preparation.
• Participate in due diligence and transaction closing processes.
• Develop an understanding of M&A processes through hands-on project experience.

Training and Exposure

• Receive one week of comprehensive training before joining a project team.
• Gain immersive on-the-job training and develop technical financial skills.
• Receive ongoing support from the project team and a dedicated buddy.
• Engage with senior professionals and clients during the internship.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in full-time study as a penultimate-year student graduating in Spring or Summer 2028.
• Demonstrate an exceptional academic record and clear interest in financial services.
• Have knowledge of accounting, finance and business, with confidence analysing data.
• Possess strong English writing, verbal communication and computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Be assertive, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Prior M&A, capital raising or investment banking experience is helpful but not essential.

• The internship is based in Lincoln International’s London office.
• Candidates requiring visa sponsorship for the internship are not currently being considered.
