Campus Data Engineer (Intern)

About the role

Join Jump Trading Group's 10-week Data Engineering Internship in London, working on production code and data infrastructure with mentorship and Agile methodologies. Open to students needing placements and international applicants.

About the Team

• Core Development team builds and maintains the trading platform infrastructure.
• Team uses software and hardware engineering, data science, and research.
• Focus on delivering tools that support trading and business needs.

Internship Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data infrastructure and pipelines for firm-wide use.
• Work on production code with full development, testing, and release cycles.
• Apply programming and analysis skills to firm-wide data solutions.
• Receive ongoing feedback and coaching from a dedicated mentor.
• Participate in Agile development methodologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python development on Linux platform.
• Strong understanding of data structures and threading models.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team deploying software daily.
• Passion for solving complex problems and building solutions from scratch.
• Interest in data pipelining and database management for data integrity.
• Comfortable with Claude Code and reliable availability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Past internship or job experience in data engineering is a plus.
• Advanced coursework in algorithms and data structures.
• Exposure to data analytics tools such as Pandas.
