Campus Quantitative Researcher | Trading Team PhD/Postdoc (Full-Time)

About the role

Full-time Quantitative Researcher role in New York, working with a systematic macro trading team. You will analyze large datasets, develop predictive models and trading strategies, and lead research projects from idea to implementation. The role requires PhD-level quantitative study, Python programming, rigorous statistical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and perseverance.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze tens of thousands of datasets to identify patterns and extract insights into financial-market complexities.
• Develop models, forecasts, predictive trading models, and systematic macro trading strategies with other team members.
• Own research projects end to end, including predictive modeling, alpha research, and improvements to live-trading models and systems.
• Collaborate with scientists, traders, hardware and software developers, and market-facing business teams.
• Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and data-engineering skills to financial-market research.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning, or another highly quantitative field.
• Experience conducting an in-depth research project using real-world data.
• Python programming experience, including reading, understanding, and debugging code written by others.
• Ability to formulate hypotheses, design rigorous tests, and draw statistically sound, generalizable conclusions.
• Ability to explain research decisions, alternatives considered, and reasons for selecting an approach.
• Collaborative communication, creativity, initiative, perseverance, interest in machine learning for trading, and reliable availability.
