About the role
This summer internship offers software engineering experience in Glasgow or London, contributing to digital applications and systems used globally. Interns design, develop, test, and troubleshoot secure software, collaborate with experienced engineers, use modern and AI-enabled tools responsibly, and receive training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and potential full-time consideration after graduation.
Program
- Join an induction covering technology strategies, products, systems, and the firm’s technology community.
- Collaborate with peers and experienced software engineers in a modern, supportive engineering environment.
- Access ongoing training, mentorship, senior leaders, networking events, speaker sessions, and peer-mentorship opportunities.
- Top performers may be invited to join a full-time role upon graduation.
- Positions are available in Glasgow and London.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot software solutions for digital applications and systems.
- Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language, following established standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, managers, and stakeholders to understand problems, exchange feedback, and deliver reliable solutions.
- Document technical solutions, communicate problems clearly, and use approved AI-assisted development tools effectively.
- Apply automation, modern tooling, and AI-enabled capabilities across the software development lifecycle.
- Validate AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, secure coding, and responsible engineering practices.
Application Process

- Candidates progressing beyond initial review receive an invitation to complete a required HackerRank coding challenge.
- Applications are not considered further until the required HackerRank assessment has been completed.
- Candidates progressing further receive an invitation to a virtual Superday.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and may close when positions are filled.
